Small Business Storefront Equitable Grant - application due Friday, May 7, 2021What: A $5,000 grant for businesses that did not receive $5,000 in grants or $20,000 in loans from other sources.

Why: This grant is for businesses that have been forced to close for over 6 months (like a salon, gym or bar) and/or did not receive financial help from federal, state or City programs. It is also intended for low-to-moderate family incomes.

Eligibility requirements

1) Your family income must qualify as low to moderate income to be eligible for a small business storefront grant. A family is a single person or a group of people who live together, regardless of actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status.

2) Your business must:

  • Have a storefront

  • Have less than $2.5M in gross revenue in 2020

  • Have started on or before December 31, 2020

  • Not received federal, state, or City loans more than $20,000

  • Not received federal, state, or City grants more than $5,000

3) Your business must also meet at least 1 of these requirements:

  • Be a business that was mandated to close for more than 6 months due to the City Health Orders (like a salon, gym, or bar) or

  • Not received any grants or loans from federal, state, or City programs (like Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL), SF HELP, African American Revolving Loan Fund, Latino Small Business Fund, CA Relief Grant, Resiliency Fund, or other City COVID financial resource)

  • Be located in an Invest In Neighborhoods Opportunity Neighborhood commercial corridor (Portola businesses do not meet this requirement as we're outside the Invest in Neighborhood zones.)
