This year’s event marks the 15th anniversary of the Portola Garden Tour, now organized by Christina Wenger. Wenger is a six-year Portola resident, avid gardener, and founder of Seedheads, a gardening group in San Francisco’s southeastern neighborhoods
The 2021 Portola Garden Tour features more than 20 gardens. In addition to neighborhood favorites, there are new gardens that have been created by gardeners enjoying their outdoor space during the COVID-19 at-home-orders.
To date, the Portola Garden District Scholarship, the beneficiary of the tour’s fundraising, has awarded 25 scholarships and seven work projects in the Portola to students in the Environmental Horticulture and Floristry Department at City College of San Francisco.
